Wood chip mulch is the BEST way to attract earthworms, and build rich soil. People are shocked when they see the before and after photos of our house. The difference is "night and day"! Anywhere I dig where I've done my heavy mulching I can easily find earthworms. I like to call it my free-range worm farm!
