Hi, I'm David Stack.
I'm a lifelong gardener, educator, and advocate for regenerative growing practices. Through Urban Food Forest, I share practical strategies for growing food in ways that work with nature rather than against it.
My gardening journey began on a small farm in Southern California. I developed an appreciation for the connection between healthy ecosystems and healthy food. Over the years, that interest evolved into a passion for food forests, soil biology, beneficial insects, and regenerative gardening systems.
What started as a backyard experiment in South Florida became a thriving food forest filled with tropical fruits, perennial vegetables, pollinator habitat, and countless lessons about resilience, observation, and working with natural systems.
Today, that journey continues in a new context.
After relocating to Central Florida, I'm beginning the process of building a new food forest from the ground up. This new chapter provides an opportunity to share not only what has worked in the past, but also the observations, challenges, discoveries, and decisions involved in creating a regenerative landscape from scratch.
My goal is simple: help people grow more food, build healthier soil, support biodiversity, and create landscapes that become more productive and resilient over time.
Whether you're gardening in a small backyard, managing acreage, or simply curious about regenerative living, I hope you'll find ideas, inspiration, and practical information that you can apply in your own context.
Follow the journey, and let's grow together.
